Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. At first, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to secure john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level domain names remained online.

You will be able to modify the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no special rules on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
